Elek Miller, the Practice Group Leader for Drummond Woodsum's Privacy and Data Security Group, was featured in Systems Engineering’s blog: “Wrapping IT Up: Write and Maintain a Mobile Device Management Policy.”
The blog post summarizes five of the most common legal issues related to employee use of personal electronic devices, like smartphones and tablets, for work, and the device management programs employers may use to help manage such use. Elek urges employers not to begin “BYOD” or “MDM” programs without first carefully planning how such programs will work and putting in place the necessary policies that will allow such programs to function properly while minimizing risk.
