Drummond Woodsum represented Colby College in connection with the purchase of two properties in downtown Waterville. Colby bought the long-vacant Hains Building at 173 Main St. and the former Levine's clothing store building at 9 Main St. The transactions both closed in July 2015. The buildings are strong candidates for redevelopment. Drummond Woodsum was proud to be able to assist the college with the transactions and with its continuing efforts to contribute to existing revitalization and economic development efforts in downtown Waterville.
Colby College, founded in 1813, is the 12th-oldest independent liberal arts college in the United States and has approximately 1,800 students.
The Drummond Woodsum team was composed of corporate/real estate attorneys Aaron M. Pratt and Lisa R. Magnacca.
