Melissa Hewey elected a Fellow by the Litigation Counsel of America

We are pleased to announce that Melissa Hewey, Chair of Drummond Woodsum's Trial Services Group, has been invited by the Litigation Counsel of America to become a Fellow in their Trial Lawyer Honorary Society.

"The Litigation Counsel of America is an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society established to reflect the new face of the American bar.  Membership is limited to 3,500 Fellows, representing less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers.  The composition of the LCA is aggressively diverse, with recognition of excellence among American litigation and trial counsel across all segments of the bar.  Fellows are selected and invited into Fellowship after being evaluated on effectiveness and accomplishment in litigation and trial work, along with ethical reputation.  The number of Fellowships has been kept at an exclusive limit by design, allowing qualifications, diversity and inclusion to align effectively."

Melissa has also been selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America for the past ten years in the categories of Employment Law-Management, Education Law, Labor and Employment Litigation, Municipal Litigation and Commercial Litigation, and has been named Maine’s 2012 Lawyer of the Year in the category of Employment Law-Management.  She has also been selected by New England Super Lawyers as one of the top 50 female lawyers, and included in Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel Edition in the Labor and Employment Law category.  In addition, she is listed in Chambers and Partners’ USA Guide, an independent guide to the top lawyers in the United States, under the categories of Employment Defense and Commercial Litigation.  She is also the first woman in the State of Maine to be inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers.
