Chambers USA Ranks Drummond Woodsum Among Top Law Firms Nationwide in Native American Law

Drummond Woodsum is pleased to announce that Chambers USA has highlighted the success of the firm’s Indian Law practice group. Chambers and Partners’ annual survey of the American legal profession consistently ranks Drummond Woodsum among national leaders in Indian law, and in 2016 ranked the firm as a national leader for the representation of Tribes.

Chambers has praised the group as being recognized "for the excellence of its Indian finance and economic development practice”, noting the firm "frequently acts for tribes in developing, financing and subsequent operation of Indian tribal enterprises, as well as showing great expertise in labor and employment cases.” Chambers cites clients praising Drummond’s creativity and quotes clients for saying the firm’s "reputation, experience, practicality and flexibility have led us to seek out Drummond Woodsum”.

Nationally, Chambers recognized individual practitioners Robert Gips for advising tribes on local and national government issues and economic development and corporate matters, and Kaighn Smith garners praise for a practice that encompasses sovereignty issues, environmental law and fishing and water rights, among other issues.
