MEREDA Honors Gary Vogel with the 2015 Presidents' Award

On January 22, 2015, Drummond Woodsum Attorney Gary Vogel was presented with the 2015 Presidents’ Award at the Maine Real Estate and Development Association (MEREDA) Annual Forecast Conference. Michael O’Reilly, president of MEREDA, the state’s leading organization for commercial real estate professionals, presented the award to Gary in in front of a record 750 attendees in Portland at the Holiday Inn by the Bay.

The Presidents’ Award is a discretionary award given by MEREDA’s current president.  This award is presented each year to a member whose efforts have had a significant impact on public policy decisions for the benefit of responsible real estate development in Maine.  Gary is a very active member of MEREDA, devoting countless hours as Chair of their Legislative Committee. 

Gary has substantial experience representing businesses, individuals, banks, investors and developers in corporate and commercial transactions, commercial real estate matters, financing transactions, business acquisitions and sales and business formation and governance. His clients include manufacturing and service companies, banks operating throughout the state of Maine and beyond, out of state lenders involved in transactions in Maine, real estate developers and investors and non-profit organizations.

Gary also represents developers and lenders in affordable housing transactions, and has substantial experience working with state and federal housing finance agencies including Maine State Housing Authority, HUD, and the US Department of Agriculture's Rural Development agency in a variety of programs including the Federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit, the Section 8 Program and various guaranteed loan programs for private, public housing and non-profit developers.
