Greg Sample is the founder of Drummond Woodsum’s Indian Law Group, and has had a full-time Indian law practice in Maine for more than 20 years, including extended service as general counsel to the Passamaquoddy Tribe, Passamaquoddy Wild Blueberry Company, and Penobscot Indian Nation Enterprises. Greg has engaged in the full array of civil legal services, including corporate, commercial and banking transactions, drafting tribal constitutions and codes, representing tribes before state and federal agencies, and in tribal, state and federal courts. He currently focuses his practice on tribal economic development, representing tribal businesses, and representing tribal Housing Authorities in financing and developing tribal housing.

Merging his knowledge of Indian law with the firm’s well-established Affordable Housing and Community Development practice, Greg has taken the firm into transactions using Low Income Housing Tax Credits for Indian Country housing development. He has represented tribal Housing Authorities in new construction and housing rehabilitation projects financed with Tax Credits, and has frequently spoken on the tribal use of Tax Credits at regional and national Indian housing programs.
